People who saw a firefighter make do with a cup of instant noodles after fighting a fire felt sad and a little bitter.
The Busan Police Station published a post on their official facebook page on April 3, along with a photo which was captioned “At the scene of a fire in Yeonsandong, a firefighter barely managed to make do after suppressing a fire which began from 1:00 AM. Thank you for your effort.” The picture showed a firefighter perched on a ledge in his soiled and soaked firefighter suit, making do with a cup of instant noodles after fighting a fire.
Netizens who encountered this photo responded with comments such as, “Truly thankful for wholeheartedly rescuing victims in a fire, even though he is also the head of a household, a father, and a husband. It breaks my heart that I cannot help him,” “I wish the condition for firefighters would improve,” “Respect for your professional spirit,” “It must have been tough overcoming the fear in in a place unseen. Thanks to you we can live peacefully and sleep well.”
